Guitar 101: Different Types of Guitar

There are different types of guitar available today. For beginners before taking guitar lessons in Dubai it is ideal if you are familiar with what you use. Here are the types of guitar and see what’s the best for you.

Acoustic Guitar. There are two kinds of acoustic guitars – steel-string/flat tops and classical. The steel-string produces thinner and metallic sound that is very unique. Classical uses nylon strings and have a wide neck.

Electric Guitars. A guitar which is plugged into an amplifier and produces metallic sounds in a long duration. Its strings are thinner than acoustic guitars. This guitar is used in playing pop, blues and rock music.

Bass Guitars. These guitars have heavy thick strings and wide scale-length. It comes with four string tough five or six strings are available.

Semi-Acoustic Guitar. Is an electric guitar with huge hollow sound-box produces enough sound that doesn’t need any amplifier like the standard electric guitar.

Archtop Guitars. Semi-hollow steel-string electric or acoustic guitar. Often used by jazz guitarists.

Twelve-String Guitars. Has a six variety of normal strings with another set of thinner strings. The set of thin strings matches the note of the normal strings. It is mainly used as a rhythm instrument.
